My editor at CROWN was very enthusiastic about my edits and came back with a bunch more so I am still working on this book! Sometimes I think I will be shortlisted for The Most Intensely Revised Novel award... I think when this finally gets published I shall have a great deal of wine, make speeches, hug everyone, cry....who knows? The young Monet who has no idea if he will ever succeed and the old successful Monet looking back at him so moves me. The young man has energy, youth, high sexuality, love, huge talent and no money and the old man's work is loved throughout the world but his great love is gone. Quite a contrast.
